Obituary for Angela Jo Morgan

Angela “Angie” Morgan, 52
December 25, 1967 - April 24, 2020
Arvada, Colorado

Angela Jo Pennell was born on Christmas 1967 to Marcile and John “Jack” Pennell in Convoy Ohio. She was the youngest of 6 siblings. Most of the family moved to Clear Creek County Colorado in 1972 when Angela was 4. She attended elementary through high school, graduating from Clear Creek High School in 1986 then began working.

Angela was working in Georgetown in 1989 when she met her future husband, Phil. Angie and Phil were married on May 5, 1992 then she had her son, and love of her life, Alex, on November 8, 1999. Angela worked in retail and child care, owning and running her own businesses for many years.

Angela was a dedicated mother, wife, and friend. She was known for her enthusiasm and vigor for whatever she was involved in at the time which included caring for her family, work, pets, the children she cared for, game nights with friends, family vacations, girls lunches and nites out, family get togethers, scrapbooking, garage sales, and whatever Alex was into at the time. She was known for being enthusiastic, upbeat, organized, and positive with almost everything.

Angela was diagnosed with cancer in late 2018, completing rigorous treatment and getting a clean bill of health months later, then regularly talked about her new normal. She, Alex, and Phil were planning on moving to North Carolina in an upcoming semi-retirement and she was actively researching real estate and all things related.

Angela is survived by her son Alex and husband Phil, her mother Marcile Pennell (Ada , OH), her sisters Linda Ream (Ada,OH), Brenda Schrecengost (Columbus, IN), and Debra Hayson (Alexandria LA), her brothers Terry Pennell (Lakewood, CO) and Scott Pennell (Idaho Springs, CO), all of their families, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and endless friends from all walks of life. She was preceded in death by her father, “Jack“ Pennell and brother David Pennell who died as an infant.

Angie was a treasured mother, wife, and friend. She will be missed greatly.

Services for Angela will be delayed until restrictions from COVID-19 Pandemic have eased and people can get together to celebrate her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to who are associated with the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center that took such good care of Angela during her cancer treatments.

Planted in the area of greatest need

I am Angela’s neighbor. Every year in April, Angela would have a garage sale, and every year I would be there. One day I told Angela I was going to have my first garage sale and I told her I was nervous. Angela came over and told me she will send people my way.
I thought that was so nice of Angela. “I will always remember that day"
Our prayers are with you Phil, Alex

I am so saddened by the loss of such a wonderful person. Angie was always kind, caring, loving, and responsible. She was a dear friend during and after high school. Angie was nicknamed "mom" by us because she was always the sensible one. A hole is left for her family that will heal but never fade. Much love to you all. To my beautiful friend..until we meet again. Wendy

Alex, your Mom was a great neighbor and friend. She worked side by side with you and your Dad clearing our sidewalk and driveway of snow. I could see how close you were and how you loved her. We too will miss her.
