Betty West Polich, a lifelong resident of the Arvada and Golden area, died on July 25, 2018 with her family by her side.
She was born on September 17, 1928 at the family homestead at 72nd and Indiana to Lee A. and Ollie Ballinger West.. Betty married Albert J. Polich on June 28, 1947. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Nancy Polich, seven brothers, Bill, George, Edward, Fred, Harold, Gene and Carl West, three sisters, Zipporah West, Nellie Kersteins, and Dorothy Fields, and son-in-law Dan Hollaus.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hollaus, son, John Polich, grandchildren, Shannon Statton and Kyle Statton, Stephanie Gilliland and Joel Gilliland, and Jason Polich and Ali Dart, great-grandchildren, Holly Statton, Easton Gilliland, Ellis Gilliland, and Wylie Polich, sisters-in-law, Fay West and Gerry West. Nieces and nephews include Dave Fields, Kathy Fields, Judy Lawler, Sue Wimmer, Debbie Finnigan, Gary West, Gloria Mintz, Ruth Evans, Joan Sweetser, Cindy Brundage, Linda Ferrell, and Bob West.
Family was extremely important to Betty. She hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners yearly for any and all family members. Betty loved spending time with her friends, volunteering at the nursing home, and being Mrs. Santa Claus every year at the ELKS. She also loved spending time with family and friends at her Cabin in Grand Lake.
She attended of Arvada Presbyterian Church, was active in the Arvada ELKS Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority chapter Laureate Beta IOTA.
Funeral services will be held at Aspen Arvada Chapel, 6370 Union St., Monday, July 30 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing 1 hour prior.
