Obituary

Obituary for Brenda Jean Oswald

It is with great sadness that the family of Brenda Jean Oswald announces her passing on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2019, while resting in her favorite chair at home.

Brenda was one of three children born to the late George and Maiken Coleman and was the beloved wife of Damon Oswald for over 17 years. Brenda will be forever remembered by her devoted family; her sister Shelley and husband Michael Roths, her son Jason Hyatt and grandson Aidan Hyatt, her son Carson Hyatt and his three grandchildren, her nephew and niece Scott Roths and Jennifer Boerema, and countless more friends and family who were blessed to know her. Brenda was predeceased by her brother Daniel Coleman.

Brenda was a graduate of Lakewood High School who loved camping and fishing in her native Colorado, especially her times at Grand Lake. Her second love was her extended family in her adopted town of Falkenberg, Sweden which was home to her mother’s side of the family. Her trips there in the past few years provided her a further love of family and her Swedish heritage. She was employed by Lockheed Martin for over 32 years where she made many life long friends and proudly proclaimed to all her skills as a “Rocket Mechanic”. Most recently she found enjoyment in playing bingo with her new group of friends at the American Legion Post 178 in Lakewood.

A Funeral Service in memory of Brenda will be held on Friday, April 12th, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. at the Aspen Mortuary, 1350 Simms Street, Lakewood CO. Interment will follow at Golden Cemetery, 755 Ulysses St. in Golden Colorado with a gathering for family and friends after at the American Legion Post 178 from 2 to 4 pm,1655 Simms St. Lakewood, CO. A Celebration of Life is tentatively planned for this summer with additional details to be shared in the upcoming weeks.

Cheryl Holtz

Rest in peace, my friend. I will miss your kind heart and caring ways. I always think about how we hired on together and each year we would congratulate each other on our "working anniversary". So every year, December 9th, I will remember to say "happy working anniversary, my friend". In love and sadness, Cheryl
