Obituary

Obituary for Deborah Ann "'Deb'" Morvay

In Memory of
Deborah Ann Morvay

Deborah A. Morvay, 66, A Colorado native and longtime resident of Arvada passed away November 16, 2020 peacefully at home with her family at her side. Deb enjoyed the large gatherings at home for traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations. She had a wonderful family, many many friends, and large holiday get together were always enjoyable.

Debbie was born in Denver, Colorado to Larry and Charlotte Moore on November 4, 1954 and had two brothers and three sisters. She was a very enjoyable person, and anyone who met her loved her immediately, with some of her friends being with her since early grade school.

She married Bob Morvay, on September 15, 1979, they had two wonderful sons, Tyler and Jessie, who are both married now, with Jessie’s wife Megan, Tyler’s wife Bryna, and granddaughter Malaya they enjoyed many camping trips, cruises, and traveling trips together, with each one being a new adventure.

Debbie spent her earlier working years at Central Bank in downtown Denver, and later worked for the Jefferson County school district for many years as the enrollment secretary, and later the financial secretary at Pennington Elementary school, which in fact was the school she attended in grade school!

Debbie absolutely loved music, and attended as many concerts as she could, also a fancier of country music, she was a great dancer, Bob tried his best but couldn’t quite keep up with her ability to country dance.

Catholic Service will be Wednesday, November 25th 10:30am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, on 58th Avenue, West of Ward road approx. 4 blocks.

Contributions in her memory are going to a GoFundMe site and will be used for a remembrance plaque and miscellaneous pieces and books to be put in place at Pennington Elementary School.

Debbie was an absolute gem to be around. She was definitely full of laughs and fun and had an infectious positive spirit. Debbie loved her husband and her boys and she let everyone know they were the apple of her eyes. At Pennington, I gave Debbie the nickname of "Mama Morvay" because she was like a Mom to many of us. The past few years I have really enjoyed talking to Mama Morvay at the Homeshow (as she worked for the Homeshow) and picking up where we had left off at Pennington. It was like the good ol days. All of us will dearly miss Debbie. My most sincere condolences to Bob, Tyler and Jessie. We are praying for your family. My sympathies, Ken Colaizzi

We love and miss Debbie so much. Our hearts are broken. Debbie was the best friend and neighbor that anyone could have. She was so thoughtful and generous and had the best sense of humor and was so fun to be around. Our hearts go out to her loved ones.
