Obituary for Donabelle Cook

December 8, 1926 – March 19, 2020
With sadness we announce the death of Dona, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. With joy we celebrate the memory of her warm love, quiet laughter and the long conversations she shared with so many. Mom lived in Arvada, Colorado since 1960. She lovingly raised six children, enjoyed thirteen grandchildren and was blessed with fifteen great grandchildren. Mom was a nurses’ aid and housekeeping supervisor at Mountain Vista Nursing Home until her retirement in 1984. She was active in her women’s circle at Arvada United Methodist Church, volunteered for Warm Hearts Warm Babies, and played cards with her long-time group of bridge buddies.
Mom, who grew up in Cresco, Iowa, lived in the world with grace, kindness and humor. She taught all of us the value of compassion and patience, and the importance of family and friendship. She leaves behind many who love her. Those who will miss her most dearly are her sons Kimball and Scott, and her daughters Deborah, Carema (LeAnne) and Barbara; her children through marriage Bede, Pat and Guy; her grandchildren Andrea, Trista, ShemsAdeen, Robert, Yusef, Jarid, AbdAllah, Corey, Alissa, Ian, Melissa, Fatimah and Sakinah; her grandchildren through marriage Greg, Steven, Abeir, Amber, Dave, Steffany and Michael; her great grandchildren Jordyn, Kayden, Angelo, Maryam, Xzavier, Addison, Reghan, Emmet, Devin, Eivin, Geovanni, Phillip, Damon, Ezra and Mahmoud. Leaving us before Mom is our Father and her husband of 49 years Robert, and our sister and her daughter LaDona.
We already miss you Mom, Grandma, GMa, Great Dona, GG. Know that you will never leave our hearts.
