Obituary for Dorothy Evelyn Felt (Winkle)

Dorothy “Sweetie” Evelyn Felt was born January 6th, 1921 to Oscar and Margaret (Jones) Winkle in Eldorado Springs, CO. She was the third of four girls. She graduated from Platteville High School in 1939 and married James H. Felt August 27th, 1939. They had four children-two girls and two boys. They have four grandchildren and four great grandchildren
Dorothy was a homemaker and waitress. In 1956, she and Jim moved to Commerce City where they lived for 50 years and enjoyed the community of their church family.
Dorothy, along with Jim, enjoyed camping, fishing, RVing, gardening, bowling, and playing cards and games. They enjoyed nothing better than hosting family on their back patio in the summer while playing a rousing game of hearts or Chinese checkers. Dorothy almost always won at Chinese checkers!
Dorothy was accomplished at knitting and crocheting, making many wonderful items for family, friends, and charities. Many remember her sweaters, afghans, lap blankets, dish cloths, towels and pot holders, and the love she put into making them.
After Jim passed in 2004, she kept busy with family and friends and moved to Berthoud, CO to be closer to family. She was enjoying her senior program at Stepping Stones, where she got to meet new friends and paint and draw. She was very proud to have just attended her 80th high school reunion over the summer. On Oct 6th, 2019 at 98 years old, she passed. She is greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Aunt Dorothy was my sweet aunt who was always smiling, and always said "I love you" when ever I talked with her on the phone. I have many memories from when I was just a little girl thru my adult life now.She was always good to me. I miss her. I am so glad I could see her often.

Aunt Dorthy was so amazing. I loved the time I spent with all of you in the summer time. She made me laugh all the time. The older I got I admired even more. She wii always be remembered. I am also still using that red scarf she knitted a couple of years ago.
Love you
Dixie and Bob Walker
