Obituary for Elizabeth Ann Sonnenberg

Elizabeth Ann Sonnenberg
Born Dec. 9, 1930, the second twin to Scotty and Elizabeth Duncan. Elizabeth and Ella Louise were born in Colorado Springs and grew up in Yoder Colorado on a farm, along with their 3 brothers. Kenneth, Bill and Richard.
Libby and Ella Louise graduated from Miami/Yoder school, where they played softball and basketball. They were girls state basketball champs their senior year. They also participated in 4-H.
They attented CSU for a year. While at CSU Libby and Ella Louise met Lowell and Don, Libby and Lowell were married in 1951. They spent 2 years in England. They farmed in Fleming, Co. From 1950 to 1977 when they moved to Fairfax, Va. They moved back to Arvada, Co. in 1985, where Libby resided until going home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2020.
Libby was involved in Christian Women’s Club for 60 plus years. A member of Tri LC at the LeRoy Church. Active in the Methodist Church in Fairfax and a member of Christ Community Covenant Church in Arvada.
While in Virginia Libby was a tour guide in Washington DC.
Libby was proceeded in death by her parents, Scotty and Elizabeth Duncan. Her husband, Lowell E Sonnenberg, Daughter: Marilyn Lapp, Son-in-law: Jerry Wellauer.
She is survived by her twin Ella Louise Trupp, brother’s: Kenneth Duncan, Bill Duncan, Richard (Shirley) Duncan. Son: Dean (Dena) Sonnenberg, daughter: Roberta Wellauer, son-in-law: Stan Lapp, son: Greg Sonnenberg. Grandchildren: Krista Johnson, Terri Drouillard, Tina Bennett, and Noah Sonnenberg, 13 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren.
In leu of flowers contributions can be made in honor of Elizabeth Sonnenberg to Christ Community Covenant Church or the Alzheimer’s association.
