Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Gregg M Shriner, died Monday, May, 6, 2019.
He is survived by his wife Laurie, children Caitlin and Micah, and grandchildren Matthew,
Amber, and Major. He was a native Californian, a graduate of Rim of the World High School and
Chaffey College, Vietnam veteran wounded in action, a chef and small business owner. But he
was so much more than that to those who knew him.

As noted by a friend, Gregg was larger than life. He was straightforward, hard working, fun
loving, generous and loyal. His jokes and sense of humor were ever present if sometimes salty!
Many benefited from his generosity and empathetic spirit. He was a enthusiastic supporter of
Girl Scouts, a proud member of the Elks, and most recently an avid RV traveler. If you were up
for a game of Liverpool Rummy, Oh Hell, cribbage, or pinochle, he was your man. Lots of
laughter and good times were shared by those around game table, best of all he was a fabulous
chef and no one ever went hungry when Gregg was cooking.

To borrow two sentiments that definitely apply to Gregg and his life, “Some people come into
our lives and quickly go. Some stay for a while, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are
never, ever the same.” and “...he also left a great many loving friends who miss him and think of
him often. When they think of him it’s not how died that they remember but rather how he lived,
how he did live.”!

Donation may be made to Operation Smile or to your local Girl Scouts.

Greg was always willing to help out at the Santa Clara Elks when a chef was needed. He did have a salty sense of humor, but not insulting! My deepest condolences to you Laurie, and family. Love, Jeanne Ontiveros

Jim Tubridy— I met Gregg when he catered our wedding but Brenda knew him since her teens. He was immediately larger than life and quick-witted. During the reception our Matron of Honor attempted to make a joke implying that Brenda “slept around”. It was met with mostly silence and some nervous laughter...except for Gregg’s howling hysterical laughter from the kitchen. I loved to hear that laugh and that along with the occasional salty joke will be how I remember him best. He will be sorely missed.
