A native of Arvada, Jack was the third of eleven children, born to Ed and Marjorie (McKillip) Raven. Jack and Mary R. (Riddle), his wife of almost 65 years, lived in Arvada, having only recently moved to a senior apartment in Lakewood.

He served in the US Army during the Korean conflict.

Working his way from courtesy clerk to store manager, Jack worked for Safeway, 39 years, serving mainly in the Arvada area. He was a loyal employee, well known and respected by customers and employees alike.

For relaxation, Jack, enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family. The photos and stories told of the great times they had. Jack and Mary especially enjoyed their time at their mountain cabin in Grand County and fishing in the Grand Lakes. Many people enjoyed the hospitality at the “Raven’s Nest”. During retirement he enjoyed having the time to work with wood and made life sized wildlife cut-outs and whirly-gigs.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Lakewood, and two daughters, Linda (Brian) Kaiser, of La Grande, Oregon and Diana Raven of Lakewood, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, sister Virginia (John) Stobaugh of Nevada, brother Jim (Pat) Raven of California and numerous nieces and nephews.
