Obituary for Joan Renee Jones (Ivy)

On Thursday, June 20, 2019, Joan Renee Jones gained her wings. Her love and devotion for her parents, brothers, sister, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all other family members and friends never wavered. Her journey continues with our Lord and Savior.

Joan was born on January 22, 1932, in Akron, Ohio to Alvin Jay Ivy and Mary Coleman. Joan served in the Army for almost 2 years as a Clerk, Typist and MP. She was married to Ray Jones and had 4 wonderful children: David Damon, Robert (Bob) Jones, Marion (Sunny) Garrison, and Cheryl Reffel. Joan’s family and friends were the most important thing to her.

Joan is survived by her 2 brothers: Marion Ivy and Bud Ivy, her 2 children: David Damon and Cheryl Reffel, her 9 grandchildren: Penni, Adrian, Damion, Aloha, Mallory, Renee, Racheal, Melissa and Delaney, her 14 great grandchildren: Alexandra, Byron, Athena, Luscious, Alexander, Christian, Emily, Julie, Tyler, Justin, Teagan, Joseph, Adam, and Hannah. Also, many adopted family members.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents Alvin Ivy and Mary Coleman, her son Robert (Bob) Jones and her daughter Marion (Sunny) Garrison, her brothers Gordan Ivy, Charlie Ivy and sister Juanita (Ivy) Mandell.
