Mr. Abeyta neighbor and friend will always be in my memories. My heartfelt sympathies to his family who I grew up with and the grandkids who grew up with my kids and all of the rest of the family. Joe shared many stories over the last few years but the one I would like to share here is.. Joe told me often times he would be sitting on the porch and my dad would be coming up the road and would stop and bring up a couple of German beers and they would sit and chat while drinking the beer. I hope the 2 of them are enjoying a beer and many chats up in heaven, Cheers to you two dads. I respect his love for his country shown by his service and for the dedication he had for Jose Jr in his final years. He drove every day to the nursing home bringing him whatever he needed and making sure he was well taken care of. Rest in peace.

My most vivid moment that showed me my Uncle's generosity and love was when i was in 8th grade and i spent a few days visiting up in Westminster. Andrew. Michael, Pete and i had a good ol' time. Lots of late night nachos,
lol. Uncle Leroy sat me down on the porch the day my dad was coming to pick me up to have a heart to heart. He offered to raise me and put me through high school. Said he would gift me a car when it was time and pay for me to go to college. It was a hard choice, but I couldn't leave my dad. I never spoke about it but always remember that moment in time. Love you Uncle Leroy and thank you for loving me. Deedee
