I know I am very late to get to this page, but I just found out about Sherri's passing. I knew Sherri for a few years while we both in our 20's and searching for our first journalism jobs. We hung out briefly in SF, NY at journalism job fairs and stayed in touch as we embarked on our respective careers. Though we lost track of each other long age, she was certainly memorable, fun, dedicated. I was fortunate to be graced by her presence. Her passing hit me, as I'm sure it did all of you. A remarkable spirit, woman, presence. She exuded strength and integrity and heart. I was so glad to read that she had been so successful in her career. My journalism career was more short lived. I turned to teaching journalism, in Chile and now in San Diego -- 25+ years sharing the passion that Sherri and mutually understood. I know she needed to express herself.... She had to! Inspiring even now, still despite the years and the distance. A friend from long ago... Gary Jimenez 619-341-9585 San Diego
